Frequently Asked Questions

How does the weekly cap work?+

Each plan includes a weekly cap — the total number of decisions available from Monday 00:00 UTC through the following Monday. Once you hit the cap, top-up credits kick in automatically if you have any; otherwise PokerBuddy pauses new decisions until the cap resets.

What happens when I hit my cap?+

PokerBuddy will display a notice that you have reached your weekly cap. You can continue playing — PokerBuddy just will not produce new decisions until the cap resets on Monday or you use backup top-up credits. Top-up credits activate automatically when your cap is hit.

When does the cap reset?+

The weekly cap resets at 00:00 UTC every Monday. Your dashboard shows a live countdown to the next reset.

How many decisions does a tournament use?+

Varies a lot by format and how deep you run. Rough averages: hyper-turbo (bust early) ~20 decisions, standard turbo (mid-late bust) ~50, standard turbo deep run 100–200, regular speed (mid bust) ~150, regular speed deep run to final table 250–500, slow structure (Sunday majors) full final-table run 400–700. Our tournaments-per-week marketing reference assumes a mixed schedule (a couple of hypers, a couple of turbos, a few regular-speed MTTs) — about 100 decisions per typical tournament. Deep runs in slow structures use more capacity; top up anytime to extend.

What if I want to play more tables?+

No limit. Your weekly cap is on decisions, not concurrent tables. You can single-table for the full week, four-table the weekend, or anything in between — same budget, your choice. The tier names hint at typical use (Plus for ~2 tables, Pro for ~4) but nothing is enforced. If you 4-table on a Plus plan you will burn through your weekly budget faster; Pro gives you the same playtime at 4 tables.

Can I use top-ups after my cap?+

Yes. Top-up credits work as a backup pool. When your weekly plan cap is reached, PokerBuddy automatically draws from your top-up balance. Top-up credits never expire.

What is a decision?+

One decision = one analysis. Each time PokerBuddy analyzes your hand and provides a recommendation, it uses one decision from your cap. Decisions are consumed only when it is your turn to act.

Can I cancel anytime?+

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.

How does the free tier work?+

When you create an account, you get 35 free decisions every week with no credit card required. The cap resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC. This lets you try PokerBuddy indefinitely before committing to a plan.

Does PokerBuddy work for cash games?+

PokerBuddy is designed exclusively for tournament poker (MTTs and Sit & Go's). The AI framework is built around tournament-specific concepts like ICM, bubble pressure, stack-relative play, and pay jump awareness that don't apply to cash games.

What poker platform does PokerBuddy support?+

PokerBuddy currently supports GGPoker on macOS. Windows support is coming soon. PokerStars, ACR, WPT Global, and CoinPoker are on the roadmap.

Is my account anonymous?+

We collect only your email address for account management. No personal information beyond an email is required.
